Today the Global War on Terrorism Memorial Foundation announced that Leon Topalian, Chair, President, and CEO of Nucor Corporation, the largest steel producer in the United States, will join the GWOTMF Board of Directors.
“I have been blessed to get to know Leon. His profound respect for those who have served in the Global War on Terrorism and their families is strongly evident. I have witnessed his passion for bringing the Memorial to life. This gentleman has been committed in word and deed,” said GWOTMF President and CEO Michael “Rod” Rodríguez. “I am humbled and thrilled to welcome his leadership to our esteemed board. I am proud to say that Nucor’s $2.5 million dollar pledge includes American-made Nucor steel that will be used in our Memorial. We are grateful for his willingness to stand by our side, and I am confident he will continue to make an immediate impact.”
Topalian has shown his commitment to the success of the Memorial, as well as dedication to the Foundation’s overall mission, through philanthropic contributions and grassroots support.

Board Secretary Rye Barcott and Treasurer Cecilia Deyo will be departing the Board of Directors but will continue their support for the GWOTMF on the Foundation’s Board of Advisors, both have shown outstanding service and support which will be continued as Advisors.
